Thank you to all of our event sponsors, supports, vendors, tasting judges and event participants for making this event a great success. Despite the rain, wind, and cold everyone stuck it out and made it happen. The tamales were cooking and the public was cheering and eating. We also would like to congratulate this year Tamale Making Champion, Me Gusta Gourmet Tamales.
Also, thanks to Anne Kallas of the Ventura County Star for writing a great article on the Oxnard Tamale Festival and Oxnard Christmas Parade. You may view it only if you a VC Star subscriber. We will be posting the article soon. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!
The morning rain might have kept a few of the 114 Oxnard Christmas parade entries from participating Saturday, but an organizer said that's probably a good thing.
This year's event is offering a unique variety of tamales including tamales from the Philippines, tamale burgers from Tomas Cafe, grilled oyster from The Jolly Oyster with Alcaraz Catering, bread pudding banana topped with amaretto pasrty cream sauce from Sugarbeets Restaurant & Bar, to Indian from Taj Mahal Taco & Burrito.
It's all taking place Saturday, December 7, 2013 9:00am to 6:30pm in Plaza Park downtown Oxnard.
